Mark you calendar for "Desalination and the Gulf: The Relationship between the Environment and Meeting the Region’s Water Needs".
Countries in the Arabian Gulf produce approximately 40% of the world’s desalinated water. With the region’s growing populations and thriving economies, the demand for water will continue to grow…but what are the environmental implications? What does the latest scientific evidence show? What are the differences in various desalination processes? How can governments and the desalination industry take steps to mitigate potential impacts of desalination on this unique body of water to safeguard its future?
Presented by the International Desalination Association, this two-day intensive symposium will facilitate discussion, encourage the exchange of ideas, and ultimately lead to charting a course that creates a model for environmental responsibility around the world.
Join members of IDA’s Environmental Task Force, representatives from the region’s public and private sectors, experts from science and academia, and members of the environmental advocacy community for an examination and open dialogue about this important issue. *Attendance at this seminar is limited.
