IDA Foundation
Mission The IDA is committed to the development and promotion of the appropriate use of desalination and desalination technology world-wide. The IDA Foundation will endeavour to support the IDA in carrying out these goals by selecting, and sourcing financial and technical support for, specific research and development projects aimed at reducing the water shortages present in this world. Action Plan In order to achieve the stated mission, the IDA Foundation Committee has set the following deadlines for the 2005-2007 term:
Project Selection
One suggestion involves a project involving integrated solution of pre-treatment for membrane processes both RO and NF particularly in the Gulf GCC that would get broad industry and client users support. This could include initial evaluation of options including financing and testing of a pilot plant at one of the utilities SWCC, DEWA, SEWA, ADWEA or Kuwait. The project would provide sponsors with direct data and results of all data including performance of their contributed equipment, where as the public will have access only to the general results. Various other ideas have been proposed for the project, such as wastewater reclamation for aquifer recharge, desalination cost directory, use of solar energy for desalination etc… In order to ensure the widest selection of ideas, the IDA Foundation hereby requests all members of the IDA, and the wider global desalination community, to put forward their ideas for the current term of the research project. The suggestions should be no more than one page, and contain the following key information:
The suggestions should be e-mailed to the IDA Foundation committee by the suggestion deadline. Funding
Once the project has been selected, a detailed business plan will need to be presented to the potential funding sources. The IDA Foundation is committed to ensure a highly effective uses of the funds, and has prepared a series of sponsorship levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. In addition to priority access to the research, the sponsors will receive significant publicity opportunities, which can be tailored to the sponsors’ needs. If you are interested in learning more about sponsorship opportunities, please e-mail the IDA Foundation committee. |
