Mission
IDA is committed to the development and promotion of the appropriate use of desalination and desalination technology world-wide. We endeavor to carry out these goals by encouraging research and development, exchanging, promoting communication and disseminating information. The IDA publishes periodicals and related information on the desalination and water reuse industry. We hold regularly scheduled Congresses every two years with an accompanying exhibition. IDA also sponsors several specialized seminars and workshops in different regions of the world during the year. We work together with our regional and association affiliates to coordinate activities that are of benefit to our members.

Membership
IDA is a non-profit association of over 2000 members in fifty-eight countries. The membership is comprised of scientists, end-users, engineers, consultants and researchers from governments, corporations and academia. IDA is associated with the United Nations as part of a growing international network of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).
