Fayyaz Muddassir Mubeen is currently working as Senior Manager (Engineering) for Hyflux Middle East, a company specialized in engineering, design, project management, construction, operation and maintenance of RO desalination. Mr. Fayyaz Muddassir Mubeen holds a B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering from Karachi University, Karachi, Pakistan and an MS degree also in the same discipline from King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia with specialization in desalination. He has a post graduate certificate from International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy. His research is focused on the computer modeling of effect of ultrasonic vibrations on the flow pattern in Reverse Osmosis Membranes.

He has been working in RO and MSF fields for the last twenty five years at managerial positions. He has been involved in the design, installation and commissioning of many of world's large Seawater Reverse Osmosis desalination plants like Al-Birk, Ras Tanajib, Safaniya, Dhahran Aramco Drinking Water Plant. He also worked in the SWRO Department of Research and Development Center of world's largest desalination organization namely, Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) of Saudi Arabia.
He has also worked on the ASTM Project "Glossary of Reverse Osmosis Technology"

He is an advisor to many engineering universities and technical institute of Pakistan on desalination projects and guided around one hundred students on desalination related projects. He is author of two books on desalination; one of them "Desalination by Questions and Answers" is very informative and user-friendly. He is a regular contributor to IDA Quarterly. He also writes a very popular article, "Materials for Desalination Processes" in the same magazine.

Mr. Mubeen joined International Desalination Association (IDA) as one of the founder members in 1981 and presently he is member of IDA Board of the directors. He is also member of Editorial Board of IDA Quarterly, "Desalination and Water Reuse" and International Journal for Nuclear Desalination (IJCD)

He is the President of Pakistan Desalination Association (PakDA) and President of Pakistan Metals Society (PMS). He is also a very active member of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

Currently, he is Senior Manager (Engineering) for Hyflux Middle East, a company specialized in engineering, design, project management, construction operation maintenance of RO desalination plants.
