Isao Takekoh is now Advisor to Power/Water Investment Department of Sumitomo Corporation. Isao graduated The Faculty of Engineering (Control & Instrumentation) of Kobe University, Japan in March, 1969. In the same year of April, Isao joined Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.(MHI) and started to do the business in the desalination plants (together with oil/gas, chemical plants) in 1978. Since then, Isao contributed to primarily Middle East to construct MSF/RO plants. Isao has been an active member of the International Desalination Association (IDA) since that time, particularly contributed to the IDA Yokohama World Congress in 1993. Isao also was a member of the IDA Board from 1997 to 1999.
20th Century was the era of oil and gas while 21st is the era of water on top of energy. There are a lot of countries, a lot of people where/who are facing the shortage of water, lack of unpolluted water. Sea Water Desalination is one of the solutions to crack down on this issue with the best available and state of the art technology. Water Reuse technology has also the important role to save energy consumption. His ultimate goal is to explore and establish the overall hybrid systems in combination with water production and water reuse at the lowest possible cost to distribute the safe water to the people and IDA is believed the utmost suited organization to generate and bring such technologies.
When elected as a member of IDA board, he is committed himself to sparing no effort in providing all his abilities to the transparent and sustainable growth in water technology in IDA.
