Dr.P.K. Tewari after completing his graduation in Chemical Engineering has undergone one year advanced course in nuclear and chemical engineering at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Trombay India. He has done his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Presently he is working as Head, Desalination Division in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in India. He is President of Indian Desalination Association (InDA) and member of several professional bodies. Dr. Tewari is Chairman of International Nuclear Desalination Advisory Group (INDAG) of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna. He is Co-Chairman of Editorial & Scientific Committee of International Journal of Nuclear Desalination (IJND).
He has been providing expert services to IAEA for large seawater desalination based nuclear power reactors through coordinated research programs (CRPs) as Chief Scientific Investigator (CSI). Dr Tewari has been involved in providing consultancy services to several organizations on Desalination & Water Reuse.
His field of interests include (1) Thermal and membrane desalination (2) Low grade and waste heat utilization (3) Nuclear Desalination (4) Hybrid Desalination processes (5) New Desalination Systems (6) Rain Water Harvesting (7) Waste Water Treatment and Water Reuse and (8) Membrane Processes.
He has over ninety (90) research publications to his credit in journals, proceedings, books and encyclopaedia. He is recipient of several awards in the field of desalination and water reuse.
